Riot in Monroe

I don't know how extensive it was, but there was a riot at the Monroe Civic Center causing police to release tear gas. There were people carried to the local hospitals here to be treated from the gas afterwards.

(ps, consider this credible, i work directly across the street from the Civic Center, as well as work for a medical business that has direct contact with the doctors treating these people. If that isn't enough, fuck ya.)

I blame the media for most of these riots, honestly. Sure, the people in downtown areas that are flooded are going to do it anyways, but reporting that and getting it in the people's minds only gives them ideas. They should've just cut the footage and released after everything was cleaned up, imho.

I also heard that a fireman was shot or some such, although that came from word of mouth through a completely different source, so i wouldn't give it nearly as much credence.

Yeah i know, i can't even call and get my cell phone messages through cingular (which i could up until today), through my phone or land line.

On a good note about the Civic Center, i've been told that they have so many supplies and food already that they are asking people to wait off on the donations until a little later, so it looks like our community is doing a great job of helping these guys out.

I live about 4 miles from the place, and I just finished watching the 10 o'clock news . No news of any riot. Where did you hear this from????
